Q. Are your staff qualified?

A. All of our teachers have their Early Childhood Education Diploma with the exception of a few teachers called Para Professionals who have been working in our centres for many years. The majority of our teachers have been with ABC Day Nursery of Windsor for more than 10 years.

Q. Are your staff trained in first aid?

A. Everyone on our staff is trained in CPR and first aid.

Q. Do your staff have police clearances?

A. Yes. Everyone on our staff has passed a criminal reference check.

Q. What is your policy on sick days and holidays?

A. Our policy states that there are no refunds for sick days or holidays. However, if your child is in the hospital for any reason there is no charge.

Q. Can you administer medication?

A. Yes. Medication that is brought to school in its original container can be administered. The parent or guardian must fill out a consent form stating the child’s name, the amount of medication to be given, and what time it should be taken. These Drug Administration forms can be found in all the classrooms.

Q. Can someone pick up my child without my consent?

A. No child will be released to any person unless authorized by the parent or guardian. We must have written or verbal authorization for any changes in this policy. Whenever a designate of the parents choice will be picking up a child they will be required to show us Photo Identification.

Children First

Children First provides services to families with children newborn to six years of age who have special needs. They visit children and families in their homes, in licensed child care centres, and in other early childhood settings in Windsor and Essex County.
